Become Cotton Guardianship Paw-rents
What is a Guardian Home?
We would be honored if you became part of our Guardian Paw-rents program!

Here's how it works:

Our Guardian Home Program allows local families to have a “pick of the litter” puppy or a top-notch adolescent/adult breeding dog without the high cost. The Guardian Home puppy or dog becomes a permanent part of the Guardian Home’s family, while Cotton Country Doodles retains breeding rights for a set period.

When the dog reaches breeding age, any health testing for breeding will be done at the expense of Cotton Country Doodles. If the dog does not meet breeding standards, full ownership is transferred to the Guardian family, who will then spay/neuter the dog. If used for breeding, the dog will be spayed/neutered and full ownership will be given to the Guardian home once retired.
Benefits of Being a Guardian Home
A Guardian Family receives the best of the best from Cotton Country Doodles. We select our breeding stock based on the highest quality traits. Guardian dogs will be fully health tested by 12 months of age, with costs covered by Cotton Country Doodles. Guardian families enjoy the excitement of being part of our breeding program and seeing their dog’s offspring placed with loving families nationwide. You'll also be encouraged to visit with the puppies at The Cotton Blossom Nursery.
Cost Involved

There is no purchase cost for a Guardian puppy or dog. Guardian Paw-rents are responsible for routine veterinary care, quality dog food, grooming, monthly heartworm prevention, flea/tick prevention, training, exercise, socialization, and lots of love. Cotton Country Doodles covers any breeding-related medical costs.
How It Works

Most of our Guardian dogs are females, but occasionally, males are available too. If you receive a young adult or mature Guardian dog, she will come to you fully health tested and may have a few breedings left before becoming your forever pet. During her heat cycle, you must contact us immediately for breeding arrangements. She will stay with us for her pregnancy and return to you once her pups are weaned.

If you get a Guardian Home puppy, she will come to you at around 8 weeks of age. We will complete her health testing within her first year. If we decide not to breed her, you will spay/neuter her, and she remains your pet. We require bi-monthly photos and updates, as well as occasional visits to our home for comfort and familiarity.
Qualifications and Litters
To qualify as a Guardian home for a male, you must live within an hour of Cotton Country Doodles and have the dog available for breeding. For females, you can live further away but must be willing to travel when needed.
Guardian females will have no more than 5 litters, determined on an individual basis. Our priority is the health and well-being of our breeding dogs, with all breeding decisions made by Cotton Country Doodles.
